As always, I felt this one. It seems like all of my friends, my really close ones that know my heart and where my heart wants to be, are feeling the same under current of anxiety held at bay. You are so right, this is a time like so many other times before ours today, the same struggles, the same anxieties, the same cultural pitfalls that separate and divide, yet like you said, there will be something greater. That is the hope isn’t it, that somehow something better will come out of this liminal space we’re in? I try, I really try to hold disparate truths, watching friends work themselves into a frenzy over anything and everything unable to control the “shoulds”, yet in the midst of it all, I focus on just being, and just loving. So, so hard to do at times. Thank you for this beautiful post, friend.
Oh, I love this letter so much. Again, not surprisingly, I feel the same rush of wisdom guiding me right now- that this ending is a beginning. The both/both that sits in the place of grief and hope. It doesn't tell us to look away, but as you wrote here so beautifully, to see the devastation and not be overcome by it. Your voice is powerful, Jocelyn. I'm so incredibly glad to be in a place and time where I can bask in your words.
Oh Kendall, thank you lovely friend. I am so bouyed up by your parallel experience of the both/both -I love how you said that! It is all about not looking away, witnessing, taking it in and still loving, in spite of and because of and just OF it all. I'm so glad we're here together. xoxo
Surrendering and taking it all in with you Jocelyn! Thank you! And thank sharing the songs, both long-time favs. Happy to hear Seal demand “Bring IT On!!!❤️
Lisa! yay, taking it in together sweet friend. And how delightful that you love both of those (I already know you're a Botti fan - so fun!) And that whole Seal album takes me back to my early 20s and such feelings of potential and expansion. I need that now. xoxox BRING IT ON! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow. That came from a completely different place than I expected, and is incredibly helpful to my acceptance of where we are and how to process and move forward. Amazing words of wisdom. Thank you.
Shannon, I am so moved by your comment and deeply glad these words feel helpful to you. They did for me too and I’ve been holding them close. I saw a bumper sticker today, “ be kinder than necessary.” I feel like that also means to ourselves in this time not just others. Thank you for sharing how this felt for you. Xoxox

I really felt this one.
Chaia, thank you so much for saying so. I'm feeling the overwhelm today and this helped so much. xoxox
Oh and I forgot to add I love your song choices. Seal has always been one of my favorites and love the vibe from the Chris Botti song.
